N+ Devs Respond to Backlash Over Saying XBLA Games Suck

A few days ago, an interview with the developers that worked on N+ showed up on Gamasutra and drew quite a bit of attention. Namely, it drew attention because of the lengthy conversation they had about how most games on the XBLA just plain suck. Personally, I just thought it was funny and oh so very true, but this being the internet, a number of gamers apparently took offense to their comments. That’s probably why the developers have now posted a blog entry titled “In Defense of the Apparent S***Storm,” where they discuss why they said what they did. To summarize, that interview was conducted before N+ was even released and about an hour after they found out their royalty rates had been “adjusted” by Microsoft so they’d get less compensation. Also, they stand by their statements (i.e. XBLA games still suck).

N+ was the only good arcade game in a while. They just keep shoving crap at gamers. Maybe they’ll release something good for a change.
