A new image has surface surrounding the Final Fantasy VII PS3 remake rumors. At this point, we are not sure where this image originated from, but it has been speculated as something included with the Final Fantasy potions on the market. At this point, there’s still no clue as to when or if a Final Fantasy VII remake will be hitting the PS3 library, but I’d say it’s still highly probable. With the increased interest surrounding the idea of remaking the game, it’s only a matter of time before it really becomes a reality.

  1. Joelteon7 says:

Going by the image posted above alone, I’m pretty sure they are stills from the E3 PS3 demo and nothing new.

To be honest, no matter what some people may say, I doubt this will be a console seller if made. So what, it has shiny graphics? As my friend said to me earlier, “No-one would buy Ocarina of Time with upgraded graphics because they’ve already completed it and mostly got all out of it”. Someone who has played 7 to death is unlikely going to race out to buy a shinier clone.

  2. Daz says:

I disagree I think almost EVERYONE who has played and loved FF7 will buy it (Including myself). For the image however, I think its a face. Anyone could make that from E3 stills, print it on glossy paper. Shame, would love to see a remake.

  3. Joelteon7 says:

OK, question for you: Why would you buy a game you already own (presumably) and have played to death?

  4. weclock says:

Exactly, why remake what was perfect? It’s just another chance to screw it up.

  5. Daz says:

Its because of that infatuation which makes me want to buy it, the same reason why people complete it a few times – why not complete it when it has a makeover?

I can only assume u havnt had the same experience playing it that I have. If it was allowed, I would marry the game, have sex with the hole in the cd (if i was small enough ;P), and have little cd-babies.

  6. weclock says:

make no mistake, I like it, but instead of a remake, how about just a re-release?

  7. bango says:

I don’t think the following of many games can compare to that of Final Fantasy VII though. Just the fact that sequel games and a sequel movie came out show that there’s enough of a market for a remake.

The people who bought the Advent Children DVD and sequel games would be the same people buying a PS3 remake.

  8. Joelteon7 says:

I bought Advent Children (I wanted to see how a Final Fantasy film SHOULD be done [though I enjoyed Spirits Within]) but I would by no means buy a PS3 AND the remake.

  9. William says:

I played FF7 begging to end 2 times because I loved the story. It was like the Star Wars of video games for me.. and I have seen the original Star Wars trilogy several hundred times. That’s why I would buy a well done remake. Notice I said well-done.

  10. William says:

Daz, I understand what you mean about a relationship with FF7. I have never felt more attached to a game than I did with that one. I can’t even put my finger on it, but they made me truly feel like part of the story. It was just the story for the most part that was so awesome.

  11. weclock says:

The problem I have, is that it gives them a chance to ruin the game. Advent children wasn’t that great…

Besides they should remake 6 first..

  12. redxlled says:

guys i feel it the game could be done but the journalism hiding it they want to make it a big news maybe they will hold it back until 1/1/2008 according for the slip that happens on 1up.com which means’s this is good i hope that happen coz all this news (THE Mysterious Final Fantasy VII Images) THAT IS SO FUNNY .every time i think about it i laugh to death but that not means i don’t want this game iam one of the few guys that played FFVII PS1 from squaresoft

  13. Naoko says:

Joelteon, the remake of OOT on the GCN didn’t have new graphics. All they did was move things in the dungeons around to make it “more challenging,” whether it was or not. Zelda OOT and FF7 have some things in common – they were both very ground-breaking and popular games. If they make the graphics better, people WILL buy the game. I was originally excited to see OOT with a new style of graphics, and I got disappointed. This is really something for most fans of the series. It’s a chance to see it in a different way. You can see all the cutscenes as if they were from a movie. It’s big for a lot of fans, after they’ve been disappointed with things like X-2.
Besides, who wouldn’t want to go back and play FF7? I’ve played through most of the Final Fantasy games so many times, as well as the Zelda games – it’s still fun, and then the new graphics are a big new thing with the game to experience. I got OOT Master Quest to see how they’d change Zelda, and I want to see this even more.
FF7 was a big thing for most gamers. So yeah, most of them probably would like to get this game. Why do you think there’s so much hype about it? Why do you think everyone’s so excited? Most FF fans want this.

    Redxlled… You lost me.

redxlled:”every time i think about it i laugh to death but that not means i don’t want this game iam one of the few guys that played FFVII PS1 from squaresoft”

One of the few guys? Um . . There’s A LOT of guys who have played FFVII on the Psx /Ps1 from Square Soft. SS didn’t merge with Enix Corp. until around 2003?

Anyways, the chance of a remake is probably very high but won’t be announced til like mid 2008/late 2008 and then released in 2009-but that’s just my opinion. Enhanced graphics, voice acting, revamped minigames, extra miniquests, deeper character development, and a remade world map are all possibilities with what they can do with a remake.

Ever since FFIX, there hasn’t been an Final Fantasy with a true “world map”. That would be quite interesting to see with next gen graphics.

As for ruining the game, I don’t think they can do that if they keep the original things that made FFVII great and simply added on and reworked some of the faultier areas.

  15. Cypher says:

The image is from the Final Fantasy VII 10th Anniversary Potion package.
It’s from the book Ultimania that it came with.
At the very end of the book you will find these two pages, and yes the images are taken from the Tech Demo, nothing more.

  16. Afthartos says:

Foolery man u are totally Correct dude to all the paragraph..as for The Jackass Cypher…OMG DUDE??? WWhat are u eating horse shit or something????U THINK WE DIDN”T NOTICE THAT THE PICS were from the TECH DEMO???GOD!Anyhow that’s a copy pasted paragraph tha i recently read…

“According to a reliable Japanese blogger that works at Konami, a Final Fantasy VII remake for the PlayStation 3 has been confirmed. The translation is really bad, but I can understand that he got the information in a developers meeting.

To confirm his information he gave a picture of his “e-AMUSEMENT Pass” to prove he was there. I guess we can only hope it’s true! ”

    Chew that FF7 PS3 remake NON-Believers!

  17. MarOS says:

well if they are going to make a re-make im sure that not only ffvii fanboys would be the only people to buy it :/

like what about all those 16yr olds who would nvr touch ffvii cause of how it looks but watched Advent Children and loveed it?

  18. weclock says:

please do not remake any game ever again, thank you squareenix

also please focus soley on new material

    thank you

  19. Rick says:

Sony fanboys are pieces of garbage, and the entire Final Fantasy series is one big hunk of SHIT. Every single “game” that this supposed “Square Onix” has made, is one HUGE, STEAMING pile of japanese TRASH.

I look forward to debating this with you losers point by point, you wussy fantasy loving fairies.

  20. Blaze360 says:

What alot of people dont understand is that FF7 is the RPG brought people who didnt understand RPGs like FF6, Chrono, and Breath of Fire into the light/mainstream.

FF7 made RPGs a staple in the Videogame industry b/c regardless of what you think MONEY drives this industry. FF7 brought money, brought new fans and made Cloud and Sephiroth household names. No other RPG has ever done that ever. Thats why we need this game to come back, to reinvigorate the RPG gaming industry.

  21. Jay says:

I think its the most amazing idea that they could make.
    I would certainly buy it!
And maybe, if it did well, they could remake FF8 and FF9 !!!
I really hope they keep the old battle system I hate this new one…

  22. Weclock says:

    no, no, no more remakes
stop shoveling the same crap at me over and over again, it was fun the first time, but I don’t need any more crap!

  23. SacherTorte says:

I dunno if they could remake it, I mean if they make all the characters all shiny and realistic like advent children some of the gags wouldn’t work, could you imagine the advent children cloud dressing as a girl? unless they only remake the cg sequences

  24. Rikkii says:

 final fantasy vii remake would be the best thing that would happen in this world. 1 people who really loved the game wouldnt have a problem playing it now especially when it is now more beatiful and improved.2 younger people who have never experienced playing final fantasy vii but played other final fantasy vii games such dirge of cerberus and crisis core and bought the movie are probably in love with final fantasy vii and would be glad to buy the game that started it all. Myself included. so if u dont want a remake sut up nobody cares what u think because most of us want this to truly happen. please go to this website and sign the petition for final fantasy vii remake http://www.petitiononline.com/ff7remke/petition.html
