MTV released a top ten list of games from 2007. Surprisingly, Mass Effect is nowhere to be found on the list. Here’s their picks:

  • Super Mario Galaxy
  • BioShock
  • Call Of Duty 4
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass
  • Rock Band
  • Halo 3
  • God Of War 2
  • Crackdown
  • Contra 4
  • World Of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade
  • It’s definitely interesting that God Of War 2 is making many top ten lists even though it’s a PS2 title. I guess sometimes you don’t need a next gen console to make a great modern game. Although I agree with most of MTV’s picks, I am shocked to see Crackdown on the list and not something like Mass Effect. I realize that many people loved Crackdown, but it was too repetitive for me. To be honest, the only reason I ever purchased Crackdown was to get into the Halo 3 Beta action. After the Halo 3 Beta ended, my time with Crackdown also ended. The game was unique in many ways, but wasn’t what I would call a “great” or “top ten” game.

      what is with crackdown?
sure, it was an o.k game, but not one of the best.

and what is it with mass effect not being there, that is just not right!

MTV is cracked out half the time when they talk about games. I bet they picked Crackdown based on sales figures, which would lead me to believe they aren’t actually playing all the games they talk about.. or at least that’s my guess… but Crackdown certainly was not even a top 25 game this year. 2007 was really a great year for console titles, so I am not sure why some sites are making surprise picks for their top ten lists.

      Where is The Orange Box?!??!
Oh well, I have always hated MTV since they don’t show music anymore…
Darn, Halo 3 really doesn’t belong in this list! Personally, Crackdown and Contra 4 don’t belong there either!

Again: WHERE THE HELL IS THE ORANGE BOX?!!?!

I agree, The Orange Box should be on that list!
