MSUs Sparty the Spartan Chosen as NCAA Football 09 Cover Mascot for the Wii

The fans have spoken and Michigan State University’s Sparty the Spartan has been chosen as the cover mascot for NCAA Football 09 for the Wii. Over 700,00 votes were cast as fans requested their favorite mascot. Sparty beat out some fierce competition from Central Florida, Washington State, Auburn, LSU, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa State, Alabama and Penn State.

As a native of Columbus Ohio, I was a bit surprised that Brutus Buckeye didn’t make the top ten.  However even if OSU football fans border on rabid devotion to their team, Brutus is a poisonous nut.
