Mountain Dew "Game Fuel" Taste Test

Get an edge on the competition with Mountain Dew Game Fuel!
Inspired by the most anticipated game release of all time, Halo 3 Mountain Dew Game Fuel will give you an extra boost!
Mountain Dew Game Fuel has the same great Mountain Dew flavor with an invigorating blast of citrus cherry and more caffeine for maximum intensity!
Mountain Dew Game Fuel tastes like cough syrup and Red Bull!
Okay, so the last one I made up. The rest can be found on the “Game Fuel†promo. You can currently (as of yesterday) find this Halo 3 themed Mountain Dew at any major retailer, but be warned, it may not be as awesome as you expect.
What is it with game tie-ins? Why do they always have to fail? Especially here, where you have Mountain Dew (loved by gamers everywhere) and Halo 3, (beloved franchise) what could go wrong? Well, uhm… the taste, for one. I mean I know taste is such a subjective thing, so I let my girlfriend have a swig. “Is this a prank?!†Not the greatest first reaction.
In their defense, the bottle certainly looks cool, and the liquid inside has a very “energetic†color to it. So buy it for the keepsake value, but keep the “drinking it†to a minimum.

Just how much fuel is needed to play a video game?

@Lady Holdem, i think any average video game requires one to consume at least 10 litres of fuel per hour. (Also, you should sit on a toilet while playing so your "exhaust" doesn't stain your pants)

We can't get Mountain Dew, Bawls or Jolt in the UK. If we want them we have to pay extra to import them for LANs and things. If this does get offered to me by import I don't think I'll risk it.

I thought when I first tasted it, "uh…. yeah, whoa thats not right"; however, I cant get enough of it now. It grows on ya and actually tastes really good when you get the full flavor of it.

definitely a good drink. I will drink this until the promo expires. I thnk if they extended the drink past a few months though I would probably not drink it every day, but being it's a limited mountain dew product I can't get enough.

When I first saw it at my local Sheetz (August 13th in fact) I bought 2 20oz bottles for 99cents each.
I took a drink and thought, bleh this is like Pepsi Blue all over again. (the medicine taste)
however, I bought 3 12oz 12paks for $10, I've come to like it (ALOT)
I always preferred soda in a can over a bottle. Its something about the plastic bottle that doesn't keep the flavor intact.
I give this Mountain Dew an A++

[...] it is causing concern, as it apparently tops the caffeine in Red Bull and reviews indicate that has not helped the taste. The packaging looks great, [...]

I don't see how people could possibly dislike Gamer Fuel. It's like liquid gummy worms on steroids! It's a delicious flavor that's very addicting. I only hope that they rerelease it after Halo 3 under some other name just to keep that amazing drink with me forever!!!

I have to go with the rest of you, the first time I tasted it I thought, "I won't be buying this again.". Near the end of the bottle, I found it grows on you, quickly. I bought 3 12 packs the next day, I really hope they decide to keep it around, I liked Pitch Black too, but it going away doesn't bother me as much as never having Game Fuel around. Mt. Dew has always been a mainstay with gamers, so they should REALLY consider keeping Game Fuel around for good, and just every so often have a team up for a new game and put the pics from the game on the cans/bottles. Kind of like they do regionally with Pepsi and NCAA games.

It is the greatest. Listening to the Halo soundtrack, I get that taste in my mouth from the late nights playing Halo
and drinking game fuel. IT is amazing.
