To be honest, it has not surprised me that Motley Crue’s latest single has sold more on Rock Band than iTunes. ‘Saints of Los Angeles’, the first single from the band’s latest studio effort was released on April 15 via XBL and PSN.

According to data provided by the band’s management via Reuters, the track was downloaded more than 47,000 times on XBL in the first week after it became available and although total downloads for the PS3 version of the game were not available as of this report; it is interesting to note that the same track was only downloaded a little over 10,000 times on iTunes and Amazon, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Like I said, this does not surprise me very much. It is one thing to download a new song to jam to on Rock Band and another thing to download one to listen to on your iPod. Maybe if the song did not sound like EVERY OTHER SONG THEY HAVE MADE the numbers for music downloads would be higher, but unfortunately as of this post they are not.
