Adding more instruments to Guitar Hero would be interesting, but there's always the problem of people demanding support for older songs. This could be easily achieved through DLC, of course, and I could think of nothing more challenging that trying to keep up with the drums on something like YYZ or Play With Me. (Which is, btw, the only worthwhile song on Rock The 80s.)

The only problem, as Joelteon above me noted, is that nobody will want to buy the peripherals needed to do drums, or vocals, or keyboard, or whatever else they decide to include in Rock Band. Cowbell, anyone?

The thing about Rock Band is that that looks to be a little TOO much, y'know? Great idea and all, but there's a limit. At least with GH, you need only get the Guitar, but you'd need a lot of (likely expensive) peripherals to reap the benefit out of RB, whilst with GH, you need only the Guitar that comes with it (admiteddly, two player can be fun).

I'm looking forward to 3. I do hope that there will be DLC, even on the Wii.

Hopefully those who blindly bought Rock The 80s have learned a valuable lesson.

People don't want to replace their guitar controller. However, those who are really into it don't want a stock controller anyway. I personally want a unique customized paint job. Some of the custom paint jobs on scorehero.com are just amazing. I'd consider paying someone if they did a good job.
