According to eMediaWire, the Miss Video Game 2007 finals have moved to Canada’s largest gaming festival. The competition finals that were scheduled to be held in June at Montreal, Quebec have been shifted to coincide with the Arcadia Festival November 9-11 2007. Representatives of MVG and Arcadia have been planning for the move for some time, but waited for agreements to be finalized before announcing the details.
MVG co-founder Mark Donovan had this to say about the move, “We’re thrilled to be hosting our finals round at Arcadia. Anyone who has ever been to an event hosted by the promotions team behind Arcadia knows that they bring gaming to a new level both logistically and aesthetically. We believe that our vision for the future of gaming is highly aligned with the Arcadia team and our partnership will allow us to bolster our brand, technology and most importantly introduce the winner of Miss Video Game 2007 to 20,000 loyal gamers from across North America. I think that our five finalists will give the attendees of the festival a great show of hard-core gaming and add to the amazing atmosphere of the event.”
MVG will be a featured event at the festival which will involve three days of tournaments. The top five finalists will be selected by a panel of industry judges based on their performance on multiple consoles, some of which will be retro systems. This will be MVG’s chance to show the world it’s not just another beauty pageant.
