According to recent sales numbers, the week after the Thanksgiving holiday, Microsoft sold 310,000 Xbox 360 consoles in the US. These numbers are very close to the October sales figures which topped 366,000 for the entire month.According to a CNBC article, Microsoft’s system outsold the PS3 during the week after “Black Friday” by a margin of 2 to 1, however, the Wii was still on top with over 350,000 Wii consoles sold.

Considering this new data, Microsoft is still confident that they are on track to PS3 and Wii combined. According to NPD data, the Xbox 360 represented 54% of total sales for October, with the Wii taking 30% and the PS3 16%.

GamesIndustry.biz UPDATE: “An SCEA spokesperson disputed Microsoft’s assertion that the Xbox 360 had outsold the PS3 2 to 1, but stated that it was company policy not to disclose specific sales until NPD data is officially released.” Alirighty then…..

This isn’t ‘according to recent sales numbers’ its according to some spin that Microsoft have released.

There are no sales numbers available and there wont be until the 13th December when NPD release theirs.

  2. Zach 16 says:

Hi, I am Zach I was wondering why these games won’t work on my X-box360. I looked on line to see if they work but they don’t.What do I do. Please reply.

  3. Averre says:

I knew you would comment on this Norbit, you just can’t -stand- it when the 360 is talked about.

This is not a ’spin’ Norbit it’s a little something called sales numbers, the 360 sells more units per month than the PS3 and has been for some time, your crap about Microsoft fudging numbers and so on is just that…crap.

Why would they need to put a ’spin’ on anything? the WII and 360 outselling the PS3 in the European and U.S. markets is common knowledge to anybody who pays attention.

So very well, we’ll play it your way and wait until the 13th….which will tell the the -exact- damn thing this report says, as it always does.
