Midway Plans Next-Gen Mortal Combat

According to Midway’s latest financial report, the publisher has big plans for creating new “next-gen” installments in the Mortal Kombat and Blitz franchises.
“We also expect to release several as-yet unannounced titles such as next generation versions of our hit franchises Blitz and Mortal Kombat, and two exciting new ambitious open world games,” Midway boss David Zucker said in a statement.
“We intend to give more details on our 2008 release schedule in the near future.”
The same report also listed a slip for Epic Games’ upcoming Unreal Tournament 3. however Epic’s boss Mark Rein has gone on record as saying fans may see UT3 released on PC and PS3 before the end of the year.
