Due mostly in part to the Red Ring of Death, Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices Division is posting losses of $1.89 billion.
Let me put that in numerical representation: $1,890,000,000.00
Ah, that’s better. See, when you look at the actual number with all the zeros behind it, you get a sense of how big it is. But even then, let’s get another point of reference: you could buy four million seven hundred twenty five thousand one hundred eighteen Xbox 360s with that. It’s a given that somebody got fired for it.
According to the GamesIndustry.biz article, Microsoft allotted $1 billion in revenue solely to the “Red Ring of Death” issue, as all of you know is where your Xbox power button turns red and you have to get a new one. Unless, of course, you have tin foil, a hair dryer, and arctic silver paste.
Hilariously, however, despite all of this, Microsoft still managed a fifteen percent increase in profits overall.

Quite interesting article.
