Microsoft Vying for Gamers Love With GTA IV Xbox 360 Elite

Love me!!! Love me!!! Not the PS3!!!
Microsoft is trying everything it can to get you to notice the 360 version of GTA IV instead of the PS3 version, and if you do not currently own a Xbox 360 and are a GTA nut, this little ploy just might work… that is if you can get one.
I am talking of course about that cool looking Xbox 360 Elite pictured above which will be limited to 500 units. The paint is automotive grade which should withstand any over zealous cleaning should someone be silly enough to try it, and each one has its own unique production number on it – thus proving its worth. The catch? These special little guys are only being presented to press outlets like other promotional swag in the past, if you want one you will have to get it off eBay in a few years.

the sweet thing about home is that u can have meetings with many people at a time! and with ur clan! thats pretty cool u gotta admit. Especialy for clans that play more than one game!
Anyways back to the topic. Im gonna get it on the ps3. and seriously i see alot more people getting it on the ps3 than on the 360

And the 360 is getting its 1000th game this summer.. Big whoop. How many of those games are worth playing. Im sure the numerous pac man games and crappy kids arcade games are worth buying. How many of those are half assed shameful games, where the developers should be taken outside and shot (The words Movie tie ins and Need for Speed spring immedietly to mind)
And finally, those of you stupid enough to find that 360 games look better than those on ps3, its because their just crappy ports. Games are often developed on the 360, simply because its easy. Once game developers start using the ps3 and harnessing its power, games will look better on both consoles (Lucasarts being the only one i can remember at current)
So in short, its down to personal preference, but the PS3 DEFINETLY has the edge, and it will become more apprent over the next few years

Theres ALOT of 360 fans that are jealous of home, and its extremely easy to see that their jealous. Theres no way home is bad, Sony confirmed that its gonna be the best online virtual reality game ever created, how is that bad? thats just gonna kik ass. and yeah what wow_dude_ said is right, you dont have to use home, you can use menues like a 360, home is just alot more fun instead of flipping through menus. and you dont think sony wont let you just zap to a location? it can be just as fast as 360’s menu access.
just wait till home comes out, its gonna be really, really good. xbox 360 fans can say what they want, but home is gonna damage the 360, even that its all free. and alot of devs are looking forward to home, you can set up a table in a war-room for a specific game, place little army dudes, each as a clan member, and lay them out on the game’s map your gonna be fighting on, isnt that kool? simply plan out your strajedy instead of just talking with clan members, the 360 doesnt have anything like that.
also companies will be able to advertise their titles/movies on tv screens around home, and your not forced to look at them. this part is gonna be pretty kool. walk up to a tv and watch and trailer, and go do something else, like bowling, watch movies at a theatre, play pool, walk up to an arcade machine and play on it, etc.
you can chat with your entire clan at the same time, in PEACE-not during a game, so you can take all the time you want and use a table with a map and setup your clan memebrs to go to each location and stuff. obviously, 360 you can only chat with 1 or 2 other people, not great.
you just dont wana mess with home, its something that cant be brought down.
and to “skidz”-yeah you might have not gotten any probs with your “2nd” 360, but your just like a fish in the ocean thats tryin g to get a point across. just cuse it never happened to you, doesnt mean it dont to others. theres still alota people that have probs with their 360, its failure rate is at 16%, sad microsoft, rushed everything, knowing the ps3 would of been in lead in release of same date.
blu ray is huge, what does ms offer? dvd-9 that hold 8gb? against 50gb blu ray disk? eventualy you mite get a blu ray player. and the ps3 is getting an update in a few days where you can download movies 1080p-a playstation movie store. ig 360 were to get mgs4, would you wana buy itfor over a 120$ that needs to use 8 disks to store for the entire game? sure you may not like mgs4, you may say no to my question, but companies dont like staying stuck with the 360’s limitations, thats why they moving to ps3 exclusive to show ALOT more capabilieis with blu ray disks.which means later the 360’s game cant really be compared to the ps3’s blu ray games. unless you get a ps3. have fun in the past.
o yeah, and you dont have to “download” trailers in home, there already put up on a screen, you just go up to it and watch it. you only download movies/trailers in a ps store, not HOME. and yeah, you do sound pretty jealous, just like many other 360 fans who cant admit that home is actually good, trying to make it look bad.
I have both consoles and have to admit overall the ps3 owners have the upper hand at the moment, why???
when i bought my PS3 like others i paid ALOT of my hard-earned money on it, I am very happy with it and i LOVE it.. i quickly realised the majority of people own a 360 and everyone was ‘hating’ on the ps3 with comments about price and lack of games. I admit the first month there was not many games so i went out and got a 360. I couldnt beleive when i looked at the 360 section in GAMEstation that these 360 owners were saying lack of games when its clear in my mind that the 360 had a lack of good games! I since purchasing my ps3 have had MORE ps3 games than 360. Overall its blatantly obvious which is the better system and anyone who knows anything about the game industry knows too. The main thing is the 360 has a bigger fanbase as of its head-start, meaning there are ALOT more owners and FANBOYS defending ‘their’ console. Of course everyone is different but i have NOT yet met anyone who has both consoles and prefers the 360. I know mine wont last for long and the only game that i would buy in the future for it is gears 2, MS are failing like they did with the 1st xbox, Sony has the better relationship with the industry with devs throughout the world especially Japan etc and has the MAJOR brands and franchises like Metal Gear, Tekken, Gran Turismo etc. I will be getting this game for the ps3 and hopefully rockstar will be surprised by the amount of ps3 versions sold and see that the gaming public prefers to play gta on playstation format. The only reason for the 360 version was £££££$$$$$ as MANY more 360’s been sold than PS3, and i hope they will feel slapped in the face and maybe even release extra content for ps3 version (after all they obviously love money!!).
I would just like to say that the PS3 IS the future of gaming, Even MS knows that thats why they’re already thinking of a new console to compete with the ps3. I am VERY happy i didnt rush out to buy a 360 like most ppl, i knew the ps3 would be worth the wait so i stuck with my ps2 untill its release, best descision made as by the time i got a 360 it was relatively cheap and so were the few good games its got.

1000th game HAHA that means ther’s about 990 CRAP games on 360!!!! I have both systems, ps3 sales are picking up while the 360 are finding it hard to get more good games for future line-ups. Sony have sat back and watched 360 have its peak, Sony dont care that most people are swayed by these marketing attempts by microsoft as Sony have the better product, and Sony’s time will come very soon, i can actually see mgs4 nearing halo3 sales rate as it could be Snakes last mission and IS definitely gonna be one of the biggest games ever hype-wise and gameplay-wise whereas halo3 was just hype. Gears 2 is the only thing that 360-ites can boast about.

HAVOC SMEG- the reason is some off the cross-platform titles look a tiny bit better on 360 was the developers started building it up on 360 THEN ported it to 360, Now most devs agree the best way to do things is to start with ps3 then port it to 360.

Someone said 10 million LIVE subscribers , so far over 10 million ps3’s have been sold the only difference is you dont need to subscribe for PSN, so there ya go. BTW this week ps3 outsold 360 with Japan 360’s selling under 3000 systems compared to 18,236 ps3’s, the only place 360’s still outsell ps3 is America not by much but i think that tells you something. Plus i get my info from VGchartz that collects data from retailers NOT manufacturers and is much more reliable as it states sales week by week down to the single unit.
Oh yeah to every1 waiting for the ps3 to go down in price, it doesnt need to as its already a bargain for what your getting so if it does it wont by much. I think the price now is a good deal.

Well according to that site, 360 has outsold PS3 in totality by 7 million units. The only place where PS3 is “winning” is Japan. You know why? Because Japanese people actually do not like buying non-Japanese-made items. Microsoft made the 360 concave, and white to make it more aesthetically appealing so that it would sell better in Japan. Japan is one of the hardest markets to win over.
For the person that said that PS3 came out with different GB models while 360 has totally different SKUs, apparently you haven’t even looked at what comes in the 360 packages. I notice you mention the Premium, Core, and Arcade. They’re the same console. The Premium comes with a 20GB hard-drive, microphone, and a controller. The Core comes with a controller. The Arcade comes with Arcade games. Still the same console, though.
For my CoD4 comment, I’ve heard that it’s laggier on PS3. I haven’t actually played it on PS3, was just going by what I’ve heard from my friends that have played it on both consoles.
BTW, Playstation already lost MGS. Or did you guys forget about MGS2:Substance for the original Xbox? I notice you claim that nothing can currently reach the PS3’s power peak. What about how Crytek has stated that Crysis can NOT run on either PS3 or 360? Fanboys can act all holier than thou, but in the end, you all need to just calm down and realize that competition between the 3 companies means a better product for all of us consumers.
I own a Ps3 and a 360. Had the RRoD once and i never felt the same about xbox after that. I really loved it up to it breaking. I was so gutted i didn’t get over it. Owned almost every console sinse master system and my 360 was the first to die. After 2 months aswell. I love GTA to bits and want to play it for hours and hours so i have pre-ordered the Ps3 version. I trust my playstation, i dont trust my 360!

also, I own a X360, Wii, 2 Nintendo DS, and PSP………I am gaming fanboy and TBH with all that I don’t need a PS3 atm…..on its launch I refuse to pay over £500 for 80GB sku, with BC, oh did Sony give MS a hard time about BC so MS made emulation software so we could play BC, now they are doing away with BC in PS3 for a cheaper 40GB sku…I do love hypocrisy

ps3’s biggest problem is that they can’t shift games as well as 360. COD4 is the biggest selling game for ps3 at the minute yet the 360 has sold 4 times as many copies.

……….how many sold has nothing to do with how good a feature is on another console.people buy the game cause they either have only 1 system or cause they think that game will be better on a certain console

ps3 is usually 720p, but all of the 360 games go up to 1080i. some of the more recent games support 1080p too.
……….720p and 1080i are so similar you cant tell the difference..some people and devs think 720p is better and some think 1080i is better..p means all lines of the image are projected and i means only half of the image lines are projected but somehow tricks your eyes
and on this gta4 lookin 360…..why would i buy box art on the 360 when its already on the box????
i hope the future is not digital downloads… there will be waiting times,higher chance of it screwing up, once you buy it you cant really sell it to anyone else or let em borrow it,whats gonna happen when you run out of space?can you rent digital downloads? discs seem so much more sensible.

It’s funny to see those accusing others to be ‘fanboys’ because their simply stating an opinion on a blog regarding GTA IV.
I own a PS3, probably due to brand loyality.I’ve never liked the Xbox360- it sounds like a 737 taking off, the controller is too large, it’s as reliable as an African dictator and i just never liked playing it but i could never pinpoint the reason why.
The purchase of Sony’s “blackbox” was largely due to the latest instalment of Grand Theft Auto, however it does concern me that there is no confirmation of any extra online gaming footage for the PS3. After all if Microsoft were willing to pay $50Million for this extra footage-why would Rockstar even bother doing the same for the PS3 for nothing? They don’t care about brand-loytality, they care about revenue, their a private company with the intention to make as much money each year as possible. Naturally i hope they do, i can’t help but feel i may have bought the wrong console.
how i was used to be a ps2 fan boy, then my mate got an xbox, and it was never the same since, so i got a 360 and its amazing, so all i ask is, you playstation fanboys are stuck in ur way, because ur affraid of the xbox, and thats ok, sometime people are scared of what they dont know. so i recommend instead of slatting something becuase of its reviews or “faults” play the thing and then u might just change ur mind. i dont hate the ps3, my bro owns one, and yeah Granturismo looks pretty damn sweet, but thats it though, controller is to small, something more a child would find easy to use. but its menus seem so clinical, not very user friendly, i remember when he asked me to setup the network, what aload of unnessary complex crap, we got there in the end, at least with the xbox, its auto and tells u whats not working so u can sort it out. both are good, but xbox is more cleaver
Why not get a free XBox 360 Elite by completing a free trial offer of Stamps.com and referring 9 others to do the same? Plus, you get $5 worth of free postage.
