Microsoft Vying for Gamers Love With GTA IV Xbox 360 Elite

Microsoft is trying everything it can to get you to notice the 360 version of GTA IV instead of the PS3 version, and if you do not currently own a Xbox 360 and are a GTA nut, this little ploy just might work… that is if you can get one.
I am talking of course about that cool looking Xbox 360 Elite pictured above which will be limited to 500 units. The paint is automotive grade which should withstand any over zealous cleaning should someone be silly enough to try it, and each one has its own unique production number on it – thus proving its worth. The catch? These special little guys are only being presented to press outlets like other promotional swag in the past, if you want one you will have to get it off eBay in a few years.

It might do if;
1) You decide you no longer want to play games like Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid FFXIII, Wipeout, Ratchet & Clank, Killzone and all the other games you used to play on your PS2 that you wont be able to on the 360.
2) You want to start using a completely different controller to play the game to the one you have been playing it with.
3) You would rather pay to play the online element instead of not paying to play it.
4) That you want to choose the most unreliable console in history just because it has a picture on the side and some DLC coming next year.
I’m sure there are literally tens of people out there who meet those criteria

and if you carefully compare it, the 3060 would cost more than the ps3 if it had blu ray dvd which is 300-550 dollards, thats already over the ps3’s. i dopnt need to say anymore, i a getting off topic. and i wouldnt want to pay 50 for an year, greedy microsoft, you shouldnt even have to pay to play online, so fuking stupid.
the ps3 has ALOT of major exclusives coming out, 360 has..gears 2, nothing compared to the ps3’s full power, which nno cpmany has even came close to, not even final fantasy 13, if you know how good that games is, and the graphics, thats not even 70% of the full power of the ps3.
gears of war is said to be nearly the max potential of the 360, pretty sad. it can never copete with the ps3, thats why MS comes out with all these new shitty modles, trying so hard to bea the ps3.
i have too much to say, all this took me 5 minutes, buy both consoles to have everything, gta will be better on the ps3 anyways, and it was born that way.

I got both systems 60GB PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360 Pro i’m getting this game just for PS3 because it won’t suffer quality or system. This game is meant for people that love playing for a lot lots of time and if i do that on my Xbox 360 it will blow up or just get the dumb red light of death. Microsoft will never be able to achieve the same great relationship that Sony has to the gaming industry. Microsoft has to pay to get any games or exclusive but Sony gets chosen by developer they dont have to pay for exclusive the ps3 is %100 reliable. Xbox 360 will never be able to make it they wont see GTA V just GTAIV.

Mass Effect, BioShock (also on PC, but only because it’s for Windows, which Microsoft also owns. maybe you’re using it now? huh, weird how that works out), Forza 2, the backing of a company that can buy out both Sony and Nintendo and still have money left over. not to mention, Call of Duty 4’s online play was better on 360.

NO. Both have online content, only difference is that you need to pay for the Xbox live service while PlayStation Network is free.
Also the 360 has the 50 million dollar MS funded DLC.

Not according to GamePro it isn’t. In their head to head comparison of the 4 biggest recent multiplatform titles they said COD4 was better overall on the PS3. Why ou ask? Because of the online mode. Funny when you remember that you have to pay to play it online on the 360. Its also funny that in the only other game they did a comparison on that had an online mode (Burnout Paradise) the free PS3 offering was better than the charged for 360 one.
BTW its quite telling that when you were asked to name what big exclusives the 360 has you answered with Bioshock and Mass Effect. 2 games that were released last year, that were also released on the PC and who’s next iteration will likely be released on the PS3 LMAO

This game was ready to be launched for 360 back in October, it was ps3 that wasn’t up to scratch. Just look at the multiplatform charts and you’ll see that 360 games are constantly out selling ps3.

I have a Wii and a 360, my plans are to eventually buy a PS3 once they finally release MGS4. But in the mean time I have no desire to buy a $400-$500 paper wieght and that’s what is comes down to. Who on this thread can say that paying that initial $600 in late “06″ was worth it?
The PS3 is going to be cheaper and games are coming as well and I’m sure they will be good but I can find allot more use with my money until then. But to all you PS3 fanatics out there, feel free to say I told you so 2years from now.

If there is another head to head somewhere that decides the 360 version is better then post it or quote it like I did. WTF are you going on about? Maybe all of the people who like to do their gaming hassle free instead of having to keep sending the console back to be repaired?
How about all the people playing COD4 or Burnout Paradise online better than they would be on the 360 and for free? COD4 is currently the most popular online game on XBL so its gotta be a bit of a pisser that online its free to play and better on the PS3.
Okay Norbit, why do you guys mention these game only when your backed in the corner. The fact is none of those games you mentioned hold any major weight…Eccept for Uncharted maybe. And even still I’m not moved to run out and spend $500 plus tax.
Just accept the fact that the PS3’s motto right now is “Wait and see” which has pretty much been what Sony fans have thrived on since PS3’s release, only mentioning bluray as an and afterthought because you know you brought that system for it’s games.
From and open minded consumers perspective it’s obvious that both Sony and Microsoft are fuckups. So I’ll leave the argument of which is greater up to you and those like you. But the fact is last year 360 had the better game so my money was better spend going that route.
As far as Nintendo goes…comparing there sale to the other two are like comparing Honda Civic’s sales to Lexus and BMW’s. More people may have a Civic but deep down they all wish they could upgrade.

3 of the games you stated sold over the 1 million mark the highest 3 million for motorstorm. Compare that to Halo that has sold 8.1 million and the 27 other games that sold other 1 million copies for 360. And the 10 million that subscribe to LIVE.

look on the boxes of a few multiplatform games.
ps3 is usually 720p, but all of the 360 games go up to 1080i. some of the more recent games support 1080p too.

At the end of this year microsoft will have 1000 games available, not bad for a console that been around only for 3 years. while the playstaion has been out near 2 years and has around 50 odd games or something like that. Rockstar have been cleaver, they were not going to put out grand theft auto on a system which wont sell as many copies when they can release it on the xbox where they will get more sales and make it worth there while. Thats why playstaion dont have much content exclusive to it, as its cost incurred would not benfit the games devolopment companies, I.e not makeing them profit, so they either make for xbox, or both. PLAYSTATION version for me! Id rather get it on the system where GTA was born and it just feels right. Anyways i heard the exclusive content (that microsoft paid $50 million for) is only like 2 more shitty missions, no big deal.

i have both consoles, both aren’t flawless.
xbox is unreliable, i replaced it twice, but still some cross platfrom games run better on xbox (orange box, assassin’s creed)
gears of war series /halo series/forza series/too human series/bioshock series/
i ll buy the x360 version so i can surf new york with the x360 steering wheel
wow, incredible PS3 fanboys knocking the 360 as always, well, firstly, XBL live is better then PSN, no doubt about it, secondly, owning a 360 elite and my 2nd 360 that never overheated or had RROD on both machines, no probs at all with the both, thirdly, the games are better on 360 and there are more of them, forthly, who cares about Blu ray? Honestly, in 2 years time I will get a PS3 for a blu ray player, and connecting my PSP, but atm, I dont need a blu ray player, I dont watch movies on rental or buy blu ray discs as they are too expensive, wait 2 years and everything will be standard blu ray and then worth getting a PS3…the 360 already provides movie downloads in HD anyway so no need for blu ray add ons..and lastly, Home at first sounded cool, BUT after I think about it, you got go into home and set up avatar and go running around virtual environments to download trailers/demos, buy DLCC etc, c’mon, I dont think home is cracked up all you think it will be, probably as boring as the lobbies in PSU are/were..I would rather flick a buttin and see the demos to download on a blade like 360 then mess about running to movie thateres etc and so called gamer social networking…I think it will soon lose appeal like PSU lobbies…

I do not think either console is bad, but i think the ps3 is better
1. The PS3 is definetly the more powerful of the two. Had microsoft waited a few years for better technology to come about rather than rush to market with their half developed rushed console, it would be better, and people would not be getting the bloody red ring of death because their xbox overheats if they play it for more than 1 hour at a time.
2. The PS3 is better equipped. Does Blu Ray mean anything to you guys? 8.5GB v 50GB? When the PS2 came out it was the only console using DVDs….and that went on to be the best selling console ever. That was last generation, and Microsoft is still using the same disc format this generation
3. Failure rate. RROD. Nuff said
4. Exclusives etc… Xbox has better games because its been around for 18 months longer than ps3. And Halo 3 got 8 million sales because people had played or heard about the first 2 games and thought “Oooh, this sounds good, the first two games were good, i’ll buy this”
i mean dissin home like that? home is gonna be sweet, and ur making it sound like u got no choice but to use home. People can use home, or they dont have to. Playstation gives u a choice…
