Microsoft Says No to Blu-Ray

No Means NO!

It is official (for now).. Microsoft is firmly standing by their HD-DVD choice for the the 360. It had been rumored through a cryptic comment made by Peter Moore (Xbox), and allegedly by the Associated Press that the possibility of making the 360 Blu-Ray compatible was in the console’s future.

Not so says Microsoft: “We’re fully committed to HD-DVD and have absolutely no plans to support other optical formats…. We firmly stand behind the HD-DVD format as the best choice for consumers. Current reports indicating that Microsoft has a back-up plan which includes Blu-ray support are incorrect”. This was posted on Microsoft’s Game blog by an industry exec under the alias of FightinSunDevil. You know, I have always wanted a cool “gaming” alias myself, but I would think that whoever this is could have come up with something better.
