Microsoft has confirmed to VG247 that the company does not intend to hold a Xbox 360 press conference during the Games Convention next week in Leipzig, Germany. Instead, Microsoft’s booth will have demos available for the convention goers to view, as well as a few behind closed doors.
In May, Nintendo confirmed via press release that it would not be attending the show, so what does this mean for those who plan on being part of the audience at the Games Convention? The answer is clear: Sony will be the only console maker who will be holding a press conference. Scheduled for next Wednesday, its is obvious that Sony will be the big star of the day as far as consoles because the competition has refused to come out and play.
This is the last year that the Games Convention will be held in Leipzig as the exhibition has been moved to Köln, Germany. With the change in venue along with snubs from certain developers and two of the big console makers, the question becomes whether the Games Convention is even a viable event anymore.
Maybe the move to Köln next year will shake things up a bit.
