Microsoft Making a “Special Exception” With XBLA Size Limits for Capcom

Awhile back, it was revealed by Capcom that the 150MB size limit placed on all Xbox Live Arcade games was restricting the quality of some of their upcoming games, most notably Bionic Commando: Rearmed and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. At the time, a representative from Microsoft reponded by offering to fly out a team of XBL specialists to help the Capcom devs keep the file size down. Well, looks like they decided that was too much trouble and are just letting them go ahead and release the two games over Xbox Live, even though they exceed the size limit. Senior Director of Communications with Capcom, Chris Kramer, recentlly stated that Microsoft was making a “very special exception” for them.
Normally, I’d be outraged about now, ranting and raving about how the bigger developers are getting special treatment when the size limits are there to help the smaller developers get equal ground. But I’m really looking forward to both the Bionic Commando remake and SSFTIIHDR, so frankly they can do whatever they want.

SSFTIIHDR = FFS, SRSLY?
Oh, and I’m glad to hear this. If I decide to buy the game, it’ll be the 360 version.
Ok so like we put limits on the HDD and live to make a crappy arcade version to try and help pad game sales by making it run on HDDless 360s and damage whow a game runs because its forced to be made to MS’s drunken specs!
god I hate MS the 360 is a broken mess refuses to fix itself or make things better for games from a dev/build standpoint…no wonder the PS3 is starting to do better…..
Wait a minute, Castlevania:Symphony of the Night was the first Xbox Live Arcade game to break Xbox Live’s size limit. Was it not?
Maybe the title of the article should be, “Capcom joins Konami on Microsoft’s, Special Exception Xbox Live Arcade Size Limit List?
But let me guess, I’ll still have to pay extra to play it online.
Epic Win for PS3.
