banhammer1 11 Microsoft Lifts the Ban Hammer Away from Early Halo 3 PlayersEarlier today, the internet was flooded with reports that anyone playing Halo 3 before September 25 would be banned from Xbox Live permanently, even if they weren’t connected to Xbox Live when they popped in the disc. This seemed quite harsh, considering a handful of retailers have already mixed up the release date, granting a lucky few early copies at no fault of their own. Luckily though, Microsoft has since retracted that statement, saying that the ban policy applies to MS employees only. Basically, if you got to a retailer early or payed through the nose for one online, you can get to playing without fear of the infamous ban hammer.

  1. somewhat says:

I still believe they should just make the online portion unavailable until the release date…

  2. probably the best solution there, somewhat… still, i’ve heard of guys getting fired for “accidentally” releasing early copies of the game to people. Sucks to get caught.
