Microsoft Bringing it Home Again with GDC

As has become customary around the time any of the large videogame conventions are held, Microsoft will be hosting the Bringing It Home event over the Xbox Live Marketplace and through Xbox.com. Among other things, highlights of John Schappert’s keynote next Thursday will be available to download.
You can expect the usual assortment of things we get – tons of trailers, and maybe a few demos if we’re lucky.
As great as I think these programs are that Microsoft holds, I’m rather concerned about the effects it may have on Xbox Live. The issues with lag and overall funkiness of the service have still not been completely cleared up since they began in late December. Having millions of Xbox Live members download large HD video clips and demos from the Marketplace isn’t going to help clear things up.
GDC is being held next week in San Francisco from February 18-22.
