metroidprime3box Metroid Prime 3 DetailsMichael Kelbaugh, president and CEO of Retro Studios, the company behind Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, as well as the first two Metroid Prime games, gave some new facts in an interview with GamePro.com yesterday.

First of all, the game will of course have all new controls, being as this is the first Metroid Prime game for the Wii. Kelbaugh does say that they didn’t look at any other Wii games for ideas, hoping to get “the best controls for our games and for Metroid Prime fans.” There will also be three different control schemes for greater accessibility.

Not long ago, we informed you that Retro was delaying Metroid Prime 3; Kelbaugh informs that this was to ensure the game would be “equal to, if not exceeding, the Zelda experience.” Nintendo president Satoru Iwata set the bar pretty high for this game and developers simply asked for more time to meet that standard.
Something the game won’t have is an online multiplayer mode, which Retro decided against in order to focus on “making a better single-player experience.”

He also says, “We knew from the get-go that Corruption was the end of a trilogy. We knew from a design sense and the story that we were putting the button on the Prime franchise for the time being.”

I might have to dust off the WII for this one. It looks good like the rest of the Metroid games. The Wii is an excelent party machine or for some exercising game play, rather than the button mashing 360. Overall the 360 gets way more game play in my house. but I wont start an argument over that one. its all about games, and metroid will deliver.

MP3:C is going to rock! Twilight Princess started as a gamecube title and was a great game(too easy though). However MP3 has been in developement since even before the Wii design was finalized. They have had all sorts of time to spiff this one up. Anyone grumbling about no-online multiplayer should just move on.THE FRANCHISE HAS NEVER HAD ONLINE MULTIPLAYER! I’m sure Nintendo are working on a new IP just for that.
