It should come as no shock to me that Activison and  Metallica are teaming up to uleash the new Metallica album “Death Magnetic” on Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock the same day it hits retail stores. This has been an uncomfirmed rumor for so long, that it is anticlimatic to say the least.

No release date for the new CD has been set, but it is also widely known that you will be able to play these tunes on Guitar Hero: World Tour as well. Here’s hoping that I like the new Metallica album well enough to spend money on it twice, although, I seriously do not see that happening, unless it is much better than their last outing St. Anger.

  1. Oh no! I thought that they had officially given up. Oh well. I love the album logo, its really cool and reminds me of something that would be seen on one of their first 3 albums, so hopefully it will be as good as the old stuff (doubt it).

  2. Have you read the reviews up at Kerrang and the like? They got to listen to 6 songs, and 2/3 mags said they were blown away. The one mag said that 4 songs were good, and 2 were odd… its really gonna be interesting to see what they pump out in September. Can’t wait!

Then I am very happy to hear that it is good  . And no, I usually do not read music reviews and instead rely on hearing it firsthand.

I stopped caring (thus, buying) about merchandise carrying that name long ago. They get in the back of the line just like everyone else.

Lars’ gold plated shark tank bar will simply just have to wait.

How bad it’s that I learned the name of the new record of my favourite band here and not on metallica.com? =P

Anyways, mag reporters always says that “some tracks are awesome”, Metallica is 50% bussiness now. The same thing happened with St. Anger and I don’t think it was better than Reload.

The fact is that it wasn’t a groundbreaking album (St. Anger). Look at Megadeth now. Look at Iron Maiden now. They both are releasing awesome records, Metallica still has to surprise me (and the world) again.
