Mercenaries 2 Developers Meet a “Real” Mercenary

What’s cheaper and more fun than making a standard game trailer? Making a behind-the-scenes spoof, that’s what. It seems to be the new trend with developers these days — particularly those making war-themed games — to put together a light-hearted look behind the scenes of a game. Thus, we have this video from Pandemic, the developers of Mercenaries 2, having a run in with an “actual” mercenary. As you can see, game developers and guns-for-hire don’t exactly mix. Now I just want to see a video with those same developers thrown into the DMZ between North and South Korea, just for a few giggles.

    Havoc takes on Westwood.
I think this is a much funnier video.

Both are equally good. The Havoc video has a certain cheese factor that makes me groan everytime I see it.

The Merc2 video above really captured the awkwardness of it all. I gotta give the actors (& devs) props for making it all seem somewhat realistic. I was just waiting for someone to raise their hand and ask “Dude, how many people have you killed?”
