Mercenaries 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company Delayed

Another announcement to come out of EA’s recent conference call regarding Q3 earnings was that both Mercenaries 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company have been delayed into fiscal year 2009. In other words, the soonest either title will come out is April 1, 2008.
“We’ve made the decision to move Battlefield: Bad Company and Mercenaries 2 into fiscal 2009,” said John Riccitiello, CEO of Electronic Arts. “Both titles are looking great, and we believe with additional polish, we will build a better consumer experience and thereby maximize our economics.”
Riccitiello made it very clear that he would be willing to delay titles to ensure that they were high quality – something gamers will certainly appreciate, especially from a company like EA that is normally pegged as pushing things out the door to make money.

Now you know why people have a dislike for EA, wonder if the UK release is affected since it was apparently due out in 5 days.
Actually, if EA is good for one thing, it’s worldwide release dates being pretty close. I think BF2142 was only a couple of days later in Europe than in the US. Unfortunately, whoever said it was out in the UK in about 5 days are evil liars, otherwise I’d have been on it SO quickly.

play.com had mercs 2 listed as being out on the 8th of february, with was also backed up by my local gamestation store.
A man …. i want battlefield bc SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BAAAAAAAAADDDDDDdd…. O AND FRICK….. IF THEY RELEASE IT IN APRIL THAN WE WONT BE ABLE TO PLAY IT OVER SPRING BREAK…frick ….its gonna be the best game ever still.
I couldn’t care less about mercs 2 but B:BC is looking good.
Gameplay.co.uk now lists it as being out in 53 days, Play.com also says 28/03.
