You smell that? That’s the sweet scent of nostalgia on the horizon. Capcom has finally announced an official North American release date (or dates) for their old school-inspired Mega Man 9. Unfortunately, they’re spreading the release of the game over several days for the different versions. The game will hit WiiWare first on September 22, followed by the PSN on on September 25, and the XBLA on October 1. So it looks like Xbox owners are going to have to wait till the next next week to get their classic NES fix. Still, the point is, the wait is almost finally over.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go Marlins!!!!
Is it strange that I now want to buy a Wii just for this?
@Pyro .. No just stupidly sad .. D:
Is there any difference in MM9 gameplay/features among the various platforms?
@tensider: I don’t believe there will be any difference other than controllers used. The Wii is pretty the best bet though due to having the earliest release date (which of course wouldn’t matter after every system has it), two of the controllers used on the WiiWare version have directional pads as focus for movement control instead of analog sticks (PlayStation’s DualShock comes close but their controller has four separate directional buttons instead of an actual D-pad), and we all know what system the first Mega Man was released on.
