Medieval II: Total War-Kingdoms – The Battle Continues

Over the past few months, I have become a serious fan of the RTS genre. Having never had a computer worth it’s hard drive, I have been unable to play anything remotely graphics enhanced, unless you count “Elf Bowl” as a real game. When I finally got a decent computer with a sweet graphics card, I started to play more PC games and found that I loved the RTS genre. Medieval II: Total War looks like it will be my next purchase, and with the new expansion coming out in August, Medieval II: Total War-Kingdoms will give gamers more places to conquer and rule with an iron fist.
This expansion will feature 4 brand new campaigns, including an opportunity to more fully explore The New World that was unlocked toward the end of Medieval II. In the Americas campaign, players will be able to retrace the steps of Hernán Cortés in 1519, as he seeks to explore and conquer The New World. Players can earn the support of Spain and explore the mystery and riches of the New World, or take control of the Aztec or Native American factions and call on the Gods and the bravery of vast armies to see off this new threat.
Three other campaigns will offer more detailed “magnifying glass†campaigns within Great Britain, Northern Europe and the Holy Land, with many more regions than were originally shown in Medieval II. Featuring 13 new playable factions and over 150 new units, Kingdoms will allow players to control thousands of men on a single battlefield and lead them into conflict with new hero characters such as Richard The Lionheart and Saladin, each armed with new, powerful battlefield abilities. In addition, players will use moated forts to garrison vast armies or seize control of key strategic points and explore new technology trees, governed by religion and prestige. Cool – you get to make Richard the Lionheart cry like baby. Sounds awesome.
Sega and Creative Assembly have provided us with more screens for this upcoming RTS, and they look fabulous. Of course we have more screens, trailers, and gameplay movies hosted so check them out.

Hey, if they make the main-game less dull to play, then I’m all for getting it. Fact remains, I played it for a couple of hours. It loses its interest and isn’t as enjoyable to play as the original Medieval Total War. Whilst it doesn’t have as much depth, it’s so much more fun.
I recommend you get Medieval 1 before 2. Not only is it cheaper but I think it’s more enjoyable. If you really want to go far back, you can always pick-up Shogun, but that’s more dated that Medieval.
I love Rome:Total war. I tried a demo of Medieval 2 but there wasn’t really anything that different so I didn’t bother getting it.
Dated never bothers me – or else I would not have enjoyed Diablo so much
. Speaking of Shogun: Total War, right now Sega gives it to you free if you purchase Kingdoms. So that might not be a bad idea. Thanks Joel!
I love Rome Total war and play it for hours! i also have Medevil total war, but i rekon that Rome is wayyy better!!
Anybody have any news on total War Kingdoms??
lol they got it in for the english lol
