Matt Damon Wanted Bourne Game to be More Like Myst

Yesterday, Chris reported on how Matt Damon had passed on being involved with The Bourne Conspiracy due to the violence in the game. Now it looks like some comments from the actor himself have surfaced showing that there was a bit more to it than that. According to an interview in The Boston Globe, Damon wanted the game to be more of a puzzler than an action game:
“I lobbied hard…to not make a first-person shooter game but to make it more like Myst, which was a great interesting puzzle you tried to solve - you know, to play with his amnesia or his memory,” he told the publication. “They weren’t interested. They made the video anyway, without my likeness.”
In related news, Matt Damon has never seen any of the Bourne movies. What was he thinking while he was filming all those elaborate fight scenes? “Yes, this scene with me brutally beating a guy to death will surely reveal more about my character’s past?”

I used to think Matt Damon was a bad ass (based on his Bourne movies, Good Shepherd, various cameos in Kevin Smith films, etc.)
Now I think very differently and the next time me and my friends watch a Bourne movie I'll have lots of crap to talk about on the ride home.
This whole debacle is news to me. I can't believe the guy hasn't even watched the movies he starred in. What does he do during premiers and shit? Does he go hide in the bathroom crying while he sits down to pee? Does he close his eyes and plug his ears in the theater while repeating over and over "Ya ya ya ya ya ya ya" to block out all sight and sound? Or does he even show up to them? Him going for red carpet PR sake but refusing to watch makes him a douche bag but if he doesn't even go to them he kind of slaps the film makers and studio in the face as well as being a douche bag.

Can I have the source of information that says he's never seen any of the movies? I'd like to read that before we all start hating on him. The Myst reference is extremely outdated and laughable, but I do like Matt Damon still. Unless I become like Grundy and end up laughing at him with my buds because he's a wuss. I fear that's my fate.

wtf is wrong with you guys? maybe matt damon doesnt like action movies but gets a lottsa lottsa money for them!?
MAYBE THATS THE REASON FOR ALL ACTORS TO WORK? not to watch the movie when its finished, maybe he couldnt care less loololol or maybe its boring coz he knows whats happening >> in the end, a bourne adventure game like indiana jones the last crusade would be fun :> not like myst, but thats coz i hate myst

I get what he's saying and it's not a bad idea, I mean he does have amnesia and I see nothing wrong with placing a few puzzles into a Bourne game; as a lot of games do. Going as far as making it into a Myst-kinda game is a bit over the edge and I really don't think he was implying that at all, he just wanted a couple of puzzle-type quests in the game.
Maybe trying to gather objects to heal a wound or to make a make-shift bomb.
