Before you judge something, Kevin, maybe you should actually PLAY THE GAME YOU’RE TRASHING. I’ve played through the entire game – twice (it’s that good) – and I can honestly say that you can see far worse than 30 seconds of lesbian sideboob on FOX F*N NEWS. Plus, this is in the context of a TWENTY+ HOUR GAME that actually is centred around moral/responsible decisions and consequences thereof. The accusations that Mass Effect is somehow trying to promote lesbian orgies….it’s just baseless and stupid and you should be ashamed for taking one of the best games of 2007 and dragging it through the mud.

The one and only thing he gets right is that parents need to monitor and guide their children. I have four and each of them is a unique individual with their own needs and each is in a different stage of life No one knows better than my husband and I what each of them can handle.

That includes this guy who seems to think that he should be deciding what’s best for MY children. That is where he blows it completely.

As far the love making scene in Mass Effect, which is implied with no “crotch grabbing” that I could see, I’ve seen worse in PG-13 movies and late night television.

If only he knew the content in Mass Effect pales in comparison to material that is accessable to “minors” who “might” access it “accidently” but “innocently” searching for “T&A” on google. If you want to ban something that can mentaly damage a child and scar them for life, go ban religion too.

assholes like McCullough make outrageous comments like he did for the attention and it’s disturbing that high-profile gaming outlets like Joystiq and Kotaku continue to fall for it. Jack Thompson, despite his alarming ignorance and shortcomings as a lawyer, is practically a household name with gamers because we (gamers) continue to give him a platform. this needs to stop.

it’s embarrassingly obvious that he never played the game, probably saw a youtube video of the only scene that actually warranted the M rating it was given (because…y’know…that’s why the ESRB exists) and decided to use this as a springboard to promote a book or whatever.

these people should be treated like 12 year-old’s and ignored COMPLETELY.

i think its sad when someone says A “M” rated game “MIGHT” fall into a child’s hand, parents need to step up and monitor what their kids are playing. im over 18 and i played games like GTA2,3 when i was 15 and there was no problem with me i turned out fine. yet something don’t happen equally to other’s. my point is M rated game should have some limit to nuidity*, i thought Mass effect was rated 18+ i was going to buy it anyways. yet i decided not to, i loving games that are gory, violent yet not too much gore, or too violent. Halo for an instance. a wonderful game that makes alot of money. like Mass effect. iv’e noticed a pattern people always target games that make alot of money. anyways thats what I think.

I was one of the many people who emailed him and sent a link to the video so he could see how far off the mark he was. Its good that he at least listened to the comments from people objecting which is more than most of these ultra conservatives do. Normally as soon as you disagree they shut off and accuse you of being a Communist, Satanist or even worse, French.
