Responding to a thread regarding a rumored release date for Unreal Tournament in the latest issue of EGM, Mark Rein stated that there’s still no release date for the PlayStation 3 timed exclusive. He did, however, give a vote of confidence for the game’s development, stating, “The game is coming along really nicely.”

Of course, you wouldn’t really expect him to say anything else, would you?

While I’ve voiced my disappointment with Unreal Tournament 3 on these pages before, the recent release of Facing Worlds/Face certainly grabbed my attention. Between that and a LEGO mod I posted about in February, I’ve tempted to buy the game. This of course begs the question if Xbox 360 owners will ever see user generated content in this version of UT3. We can only hope the answer is yes, but I doubt Microsoft is ready to change its ways for one third party game.

    "the PlayStation 3 timed exclusive"

    Its not a PS3 timed exclusive because its out on the PC also. You cant have an exclusive (timed or not) that's on more than one platform.

    Never been so true - tell that to 360 owners though LOL

  • Junsa says:

    Actully, it is a timed exclusive on the consoles. PC doesn't really count. It counts, but not really. :lol:

  • Chris says:

    Junsa's got it. It's a timed exclusive on consoles.

  • Norbit says:

    That's ridiculous. If its on more than one platform it isn't exclusive. Try looking the word up in a dictionary. As for 'timed exclusive'? Its simply an earlier release. If the 360 version of a game is released a week before the PS3 version you muppet's must think that somehow makes it a 360 exclusive :lol: It makes no difference at all whether its due to be released a day after or a year after. If its due to be released on another platform IT ISNT EXCLUSIVE.

    Exclusive = A game available on ONE platform meaning you have to purchase that specific platform if you wish to play it.

    Lets take a look at a few examples of exclsuives and see who's definition of exclsuive is the more accurate;

    Uncharted. This was advertised by Sony as a PS3 exclusive and I agree with that. Why? Because it hasnt been released on another platform nor are there any plans to do so.

    Lost Planet. This was advertised by Microsoft as a 360 exclsuive but I disagree with that. Why? Because it was also released on the PC and then the PS3.

    You see one definition of exclsuive is accurate and the other is misleading bollocks.
