Mario Kart Wii Will Not Be Released for Christmas

For all of you who thought you were going to get Mario Kart Wii in your stocking, you’ll be sad to know that it’s just not going to happen.
Apparently, Nintendo told ComputerandVideoGames.com that they are saving Mario Kart for the doldrums of the post-Christmas Season period where new titles around that time of year are traditionally scarce.
“For the holidays we have a huge line-up of Wii games already, including Metroid Prime 3 Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles and Pokémon Battle Revolution. Fans will not be hurting for great games to play,” Nintendo told CVG.
Apparently, though, Nintendo is in part just responding to fans who complain that there are no new games to play for the first quarter. And it’s true–usually game developers do blow their wad for the holidays, because obviously it’s the best chance to push sales.
Maybe we can pretend this is just a good thing.

That must be what Konami are doing with Metal Gear
It’s not delayed, they are ’saving it’.
how did they forget to mention smash brothers coming for the christmas season?!
Thats good marketing. dont show all your cards at once they say. Besides Santa Claus is coming to town, and im sure that christmas money wad will be spent on another good game. That goes for any console thats holding a game. Christmas they will buy what ever is avaialable. But in my oppinion if you have it done, why not release it, a sale yesterday is better than one tomorrow.
I can see the logic behind it, but what does that mean for the rest of the world? I suppose living in London, I won’t be getting my copy till what, February, March?
I totally agree, great post!
Keep up the good work.
