Make your PS3 Useful with StreamMyGame PC to PS3 Port

If you’re frustrated at how little time you spend actually gaming on your PS3, StreamMyGame can help. With this service you can get away from the desk you’re normally chained to and play your PC games on your PS3. You must install Linux on your PS3 to take advantage of the service. Take a look at this video of the guys from StreamMyGame playing Crysis on a PS3. There’s no visible lag and the resolution is user defined.

no thanks clocking many hours on my beastly PS3.
No thank you but still that looks pretty cool not gonna do that when I get my ps3 hehehe along with my Freelocation player so I can tv on my psp when I’m the road.
Very interesting video but I have my PC plugged into my TV already so I wont be needing this.
Or you could just connect your PC and TV with a common TV-out port and call it a day. All this seems to do is transmit the audo/video output and the keyboard/mouse input over a LAN or other high speed network. This thing seems OK, might be useful if you really really really want to play your PC games remotely.
I love the consistant PS3 bashing from this websites Writers… sigh.. Fanboyism is so lame……
(Own all 3 consoles + a game worthy PC)
I agree the ps3 bashing from the site writers is getting a little old.
1. You could play the Orange Box on PC better this way
2. The PS3 is fairly useless right now anyway
3. Linux is too hard for some people (i.e. regular joe)
4. if I had a ps3 (which I would have gotten for free, I’m not going to buy one, not interested in any of their games other than little big planet, also not interested in blu-ray or other features), I’d install this on it, I’m a much bigger PC gamer. But Don’t get me wrong, the PS3 is for some people, just not me.
5. The journalists (if you can call them that) on this website DO NOT bash the PS3, they seem pretty even headed in that aspect.

Most of them are but Shawn isnt. Even though I think he owns one he seems to find it compulsorary to have a dig at it in some way in most of the PS3 related articles he writes.
Just take a look at the first line of this article for example. ‘The PS3 has no games’ rant ran out of gas last year.

That depends on you having a PC in the same room as your TV.
No Thanks! Games aren’t a question now. There are more than enough.
Not Ps3 Hate, just something I thought was a cool way to use your PS3 since I’m a big fan of Linux and play a lot of games on my PC.
I own a PS3 and everything else and since I play it less than the others that’s where my headline came from – if anything I’m a Unix/Linux snob not a PS3 hater. I don’t think there is evidence to the contrary and that is certainly not my personal position, I try and handle every platform evenly.
think of the emulator support..
“If you’re frustrated at how little time you spend actually gaming on your PS3″???????????
Hmm, gee thats strange, a quick look at my PS3 games shows: COD4, UT3, RESISTANCE, MOTORSTORM, HEAVENLY SWORD, SKATE, THE DARKNESS, WARHAWK, ASSASSIN’S CREED, UNCHARTED, RATCHET, ETC. plus 10 downloaded games.
If there is anything I’m “frustrated” about, it’s not having enough “time” to play all of these fantastic games.
im not here to argue for or against the playing of games on the PS3, I dont own one so i dont care for it.
My question is playing a game like Crysis on the PS3 through this program, does the PC still have to meet the requirments for the game, if the PS3 is being used to play this game. it must use the power of the PS3 to acomplish this and only stream the game. So wouldnt this work with any junk PC that had a fast network connection and use the power of the PS3 to play this with Video/Processor power?
@Sk8Man: I play many of those titles on other systems, no argument that they are good games. (Ut3 on PC, Skate, Assassin’s Creed, The Darkness and COD4 on 360) so that has always been a factor of how much time I spend on a console – which version of multiplatform games I own (which is often a factor of what was on the shelf or used when I picked them up) – That said Ratchet, Resistance and Folklore are all games I greatly enjoy.
Add to the fact I own RockBand on the 360 – so some of my personal perspective is colored by the purchasing choices I’ve made for those titles.
