Strategy Informer recently had a chat with Paradox Interactive’s Executive Vice President Fredrik Wester and during the interview, he confirmed that Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim would finally be coming to consoles–specifically for the Xbox 360 at this point though.
“Yes, we are currently developing the game on consoles. This is a new experience to us so we can’t go into details yet.” said Wester. “The Xbox 360 is the console we have in mind at the moment, hopefully we will have something for at least one handheld console as well.”
That “one handheld console” will most likely be the Nintendo DS because not often are games released JUST for the Xbox 360 and PSP. For some reason it just never really works that way anymore.
The game is scheduled to be released for the PC sometime in Q2 of 2009. The RTS/RPG style game will focus on reinventing many aspects of the original game, while still updating the franchise for the 21st Century. A key element that will permeate the game is the charm and humor of the original Majesty as well as the indirect control aspect of the game that fans have grown accustomed to.
