The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar has finally offered Crafters a way to obtain resources for their professions that can be near impossible to get. Each profession carries a resource gathering skill and a crafting skill that goes hand in hand with it. Often times the third skill requires resources that the Crafter has no way of harvesting. Resources are heavily disputed and dangerous to harvest and the Auction House prices are prohibitively high and often confined to trade within guilds.

Now players can commission consignments of lore from the Elves of Dullond, wood from the lumbermen of Combe, ore from the Dwarves of Silver Deep Mine and hides from the Hobbits of Overhill. Goods of tiers 1-3 can be ordered for an appropriate fee and require time to gather the materials. The system leaves those who wish to pursue Artisan status a challenge to achieve true mastery.
