Lost Odyssey to Span Four Discs

Did you think Blue Dragon was the only game on Xbox 360 that would have you swapping discs as you progressed through the game? Think again – Lost Odyssey will be 1-upping Blue Dragon by packing in four discs.
It’s not that big of a deal, having to get up and swap discs a few times in the course of playing a game that will likely suck up dozens of hours of your time, it’s still an inconvenience nonetheless. Sony fanboys will be quick to jump on this one just as they did Blue Dragon to spread the word on the wonders of Blu-ray, but there is a bright side to all of this.
Make it to a new disc, get an achievement.

The funny thing is that even if the 360 had a built in HD-DVD drive the game still would have needed multiple disks because of its low capacity compared to BluRay lol
Because, in Sonys history Norbit, PS games never needed more than one disc…
To be honest, I couldn’t care less. A good game is a good game. If it means more discs, just means there is more goodness in there than not and that the developers are going out to fill more than just one disc.
Norbit is just bitter because he has no games to play on his PS3……
I love the way you completely ignored what I said and replied to something I didn’t. Bit weird if you ask me.
“Because, in Sonys history Norbit, PS games never needed more than one disc”
When have I ever said that? Considering I have never said that I fail to see any relevance in your statement at all.
“To be honest, I couldn’t care less”
Liar. Its obviously preferable to have a game on as few disks as possible. By an amazing coincidence the only people who don’t seem to ever see using multiple disks as annoying are Xbox 360 owners when talking about the storage advantage the PS3’s media has. Everyone else in the known world sees it as the inconvenience it is. A minor inconvenience but an inconvenience none the less. If you could have a game on 1 disk or 4 you would choose to have it on 1 therefore 1 disk is obviously better. Stop lying to yourself and concede that the PS3 has an obvious advantage there.
It’s not like changing disks is a big hassle. You play one disk for a few hours then switch. But the only sucky part is if you lose on of the disks and you’ll never ever know how the game turned out.

I dont own a PS3 and as such I am completely impartial when it comes to consoles. I happen to think the PS3 is by far the superior piece of hardware and that it will outsell the 360 massively but I have on a number of occasions pointed out that the 360 has a better library of games and that it is the best console to buy at the moment.
Norbit, how do you know I’m lying? I honestly couldn’t care less. If it’s on one disc, I don’t care. If it’s on 6 discs (and I have a game that is) I don’t care. I care if it’s a good game. You can have a Blu-rays worth of game and it completely suck compared to an old cartridge game which might be awesome.
The fact is, I really honestly don’t care. It’s not an inconvenience, the way I see it. The way I see it is more bang for the buck and for that, I applaud the decision to abandon using a solo disc. Inconvenience? Nadda.
Has there been any game to fully utilize Blu-Ray, so that all 50 or so gb are used correctly? I don’t mean 30gb on uncompressed music, I mean 50gb brimming of game that just couldn’t be more packed. I don’t believe there is such a game but I of course am open to anything new I haven’t seen.
Yeah, having to get up and swap discs 3 times over the course of (probably) 60+ hours is entirely irrelevant to me.
Not every single game related topic is cause to point out your console’s superiority or take a swipe at other guy.
who cares if its on blu ray, HD-DVD or neither, as long as its a good game i wouldnt care if it was on 100 disks.
all it means to me is that its got more content to offer than a 360 game thats on just 1 disk.
@joelteon7
you forgot about chase the express for the PS1.
that had 2 disks.
only way it is a big inconvenience,if your a fat lazy slouch who live with his mom in the basement ringing a bell for her to bring you a sandwich.
for us other people that stay active its pretty good.
if your affected by this inconvenience,
buy the orange box so you can lay on the couch and play all day.
Well don’t worry all you PS3 crybaby’s you this one’s only for the 360 anyways
OMG, the PS1 + 2 had legions of games that had more than one disk, namely the rpgs.
Who really cares?! IF you guys spent less time “PS3 is better, nonono Xbox!!1″ then perhaps you’d actually enjoy yourself REGARDLESS what console you play!
I have a job and my choice was the 360 solely due to how much a rip off the PS3 is, I think the PS3 is a better console and I’ll probably buy one when they are actually a decent price.
wow four discs, nice being next-gen xbox 360. When i heard of this i couldn’t believe it, but wow 4 dvd’s? Some PSone games required more than one DVD, like FF games. That must be a really long game. Well its still around to this day, i installed 6 DVD’s for WoW burning crusade, and i 4-5 DVD’s for Diablo II and expansion. So will prefer on disc though, it’s last century
So I could list just as many games on ps3 worth playing as 360. They may not all be exclusives… but they’re very good games. Just because the ps3 has less exclusives doesn’t mean it’s not worth buying. For instance, if you like the games coming out in the future for ps3, or some of the ones out now, it’s worth buying because of all of the non-exclusives. So to all of you who say there aren’t any good games for ps3, shut up.
Well let’s see I have PS3, Xbox 360 and wii. My main Gaming console is Xbox 360, my movie player is PS3 and wii is for family use. XBOX i think is still superior to PS3 just because majority of games on the PS3 have some frame rate issues if blu ray can hold a bigger capacity why do you have to install some games on the PS3 hard drive that’s so PC to me. The only game that i know that uses the full capacity of the blu ray is Metal gear solid 4 other than that ps3 game uses pretty much 8gb of memory hhmm it sounds like it’s just a dual layer dvd on a different disc. xbox server is far better than PS network.
Whats up now fanboy norbit?
Your massive blueray drive that’s so awesome requires a mandatory 4.7 gig install when you get bioshock? Whats up with your “massive” capacity, you can’t even play a game without installing it on your hard drive first. Are you kidding me norbit?
I’d much rather switch discs once every 20 hours, because i’m not lazy, than install a entire game onto my hard drive before I can play it because my 6 SPU’s can’t handle reading off of a cd while playing a game.
You also said the PS3 would outsell the xbox 360, well, I don’t need to say anything about that except for that fact that it made me laugh for a while. The PS3 is getting owned by the 360, it’s a fact.
Whats up with all this fanboy hype about the PS3 eventually will have better graphics? Anyone read the reviews for fallout 3? again the inferior playstation 3 gets the lowest rating
PC 9.0
360 9.0
PS3 8.5 <==== Graphic problems
The PS3 has lost, I’m sorry, it’s time you admit…We’re now well into the launch of both consoles, and the PS3 is getting owned!!!!
yo F0l2saken you suck, nobody the hell cares about fallout 3, its not a 360 exclusive and its readily available on the PC with low system requirements (my 2 year old PC works with it at near maximum settings and at 1600*1050 resolution) so it doesn’t matter that it sucks on the PS3, besides though not in sales, the ps3 vastly outperformed the 360 in games this year and will do so again next year
Actually fanboy I think you are mistaken, lots of people care about fallout 3 it’s a pretty big game and they have several content releases for it already. Funny that you say the Ps3 is outperforming the xbox, where did you read this at, playstation.com because it’s a bunch of bullshit. The game we’re talking about here is BETTER on the 360 than on the PS3, so if it’s so easy to run with minimum requirements, why can’t the PS3 run it right?
Also, why do I always have to install games on my hard drive on my ps3, oh yeah I forgot, blueray is for movies, not for games, my bad, way to out perform the 360
