Lorenzo Carcaterra to Script Alone In the Dark

Atari announced today that New York Times Best-Selling Author Lorenzo Carcaterra (Sleepers) would be the scriptwriter for the game Alone In the Dark. Once again you will reprise the role of Edward Carnby and investigate Central Park, in apocalyptic NYC. One thing you can bet on is that this game (unlike the movie) will be Tara Reed free. Thank the Atari gods for that!

Taking a cue from such gripping TV shows as “24”, Alone In the Dark will be presented in episodes with real-world interaction, advanced AI, an open environment and a fast-paced storyline full of intense action and cliff-hangers. Eden Games promises that this game will break any horror-genre clichés that have been birthed in the past.

Carcaterra’s take on the game? “Alone in the Dark was a challenge which allowed me to bring a realistic feel to an apocalyptic situation facing New York City and really dig into the Central Park conspiracy idea,” said Lorenzo Carcaterra. “It also allowed me to write for hard-edged characters, some good, some bad, all forced to confront a force whose power they could never imagine. The story never stalls; always moves in overdrive and the characters zoom right along at warp speed, stopping long enough along the way to say a few lines that keep driving the plot forward. The end result is, I hope, a roller-coaster of a thrill ride that should be tons of fun to play.”

Should be interesting, if like I said Tara Reed was in no way shape or form involved. Oh yeah, and Christian Slater too.
