Up until now, the only way to try The Lord of the Rings Online for free was to get a trial code from someone who had already purchased the game. Not realizing that, I gave mine away on a whim, assuming I could hand the things out like Gmail invites. Sure, eventually I got a second via email, but I’ve had people bugging me for months now that wanted to try out the game. So many potential customers, yet Turbine was seemingly not listening. Finally, the issue has been addressed as players can head to http://trial.lotro.com to get a free seven day trial of what has become one of the most successful MMORPGs this side of World of Warcraft.
Considering that it doesn’t strongly deviate from the style of WoW, save for the unique music system and a few other things, LOTRO has garnered fans thanks to its Lord of the Rings license and Turbine’s dedication to consistently releasing sizeable updates that dramatically increase the size of the game world and the number of things do within it.
After playing through the week-long trial, gamers will be able to keep their characters and continue playing by buying the game online or at a retailer.
I couldn’t more highly recommend checking out the trial at the very least. LOTRO is the first true MMORPG that’s grabbed my attention; fans of the genre and LOTR fans alike are in for a delightful treat with the game.

i cannot play with the trial
it doesn’t work. it told me to enter that verification code, the jumbled up letters and numbers, and no matter how many times i typed it right, it said i was wrong. please tell me how to fix this
Where do you go to get it started or get the code?
