The Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA) will host a forum for the discussion of the media’s hostile reaction to violent games at this year’s London Games Festival. The discussion, aptly entitled “Ban These Evil Games”, is to be held at the Royal Society of Medicine on October 22. Participants hope to come to an understanding of why mature content in adult games has come under such heavy fire from the media.

This free event invites the audience to collaborate with experts in an effort to establish whether or not the gaming industry has been unduly maligned and if so what can be done to improve relations with the media.

The forum is a direct reaction to Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s call to arms this week for a public review of violent and sexual imagery in games.

The London Games Festival will take place at various locations within the London metropolitan area and will run from October 22-26.
