Maybe it’s just me, but as neat as these controllers look (sans that “Live Turns Five” stamp on there), they just make my eyes burn. These controllers were obviously made to celebrate the anniversary of Xbox Live, but it seems like they’re only being sent out to the press and won’t be available in stores.

If you’re dying to get one, I’d be extremely surprised if some contests don’t spring up around the ‘net, and sadly I imagine seeing a few pop up on eBay isn’t all that far-fetched.

Check out more photos of the controller (and the accompanying Xbox Live timeline) on Gamerscore Blog’s flickr.

And no, if anyone is wondering, I didn’t get one.

OMG, can someone grow balls at Microsoft and kick in the door into Bill Gates office to tell him that the D-pad on the otherwise very fine controller is capital CRAP, and needs to be upgraded to a high quality D-pad ASAP?…Jeeebus!
