Little Girl Gets Slaughtered in New TV Spot for BlackSite: Area 51

Midway has unveiled a new TV spot for their upcoming FPS, BlackSite: Area 51. The ad is set to air on ESPN during Monday Night Football, Comedy Central, Spike TV, Sci-Fi Network and others the same day the game ships, November 12th. Now, how would you advertise a game like this? Well, if you’re Midway, you’d get a little crying girl to wander through a destroyed town before getting jumped by a horrible monster to no doubt get eviscerated in some terrible manner. It just seems a tad excessive to advertise a video game by showing a horrific series of event befalling a young girl. Cause that’s just what I want to see when I’m watching Comedy Central: little kids getting slaughtered in horrible ways. It’s not like they’d ever do that on South Park…wait.

I’m a bit disappointed she didn’t ask ‘are you the tooth fairy?’
Cheap shock advertisement for what looks to be a cheap shock game.
this whole thing is retarded.
Maybe the changed the video between the time it was posted and when I saw it, because I didn’t see “little kids getting slaughtered in horrible ways.”
Is this site now becoming part of the hysterical media?
Comedy Central and Sci-Fi aren’t known for their PC commercials.
Sci-Fi has the more disturbing self-promoting commercials around today. Comedy Central promotes some of the raunchiest shows.
This ad is tame by those two’s standards.
I saw no slaughtering. I’m disappointed.
agreed, i was expecting to see the girl get eaten or something…
HEY! Comedy Central whoops the
of every other channel! South Park and The Colbert Report are genius!~Nick
I saw a little girl screaming, but no slaughtering. Maybe I’m supposed to imagine what comes next ? And it so happens that I imagined a hero coming in to blast the alien to smithereens and save the little girl. Eye of the beholder I guess.
Also the title is Racist, here’s how I read it:
Little Girl
Black
Also, everything is subjective.
Peter is racist.
The commercial goes too far. I’m dissapointed to learn it’s been out for so long. I guess it’s here to stay.
