Library in Florida Hopes to Lure in Kids with Wiis

Are you one of the poor souls who couldn’t get their hands on a Wii this past Christmas? Blame the Florida libraries. Seems the libraries in Lee County were recently given several Wiis to install in their buildings. The staff there hopes that kids will be drawn in by the console and then pick up a book or two. Even if they don’t though, the building will be holding video game events on the weekends, and all the games available will in some way build up a child’s reading, strategic, and analytical skills. So basically, if all goes according to plan, expect a common sound at the library to be shouts of, “Oh! I totally owned you at Wii Boxing! Now I’m going to go celebrate by reading The Divine Comedy in the original Italian. Woot!”
