arbiter Law of the Game: Halo 3.5 Conspiracy Theory

Mark Methenitis puts forth an interesting theory in his latest law of the Game entry. He gives an intriguing explanation of why Bungie dropped the Arbiter story line and players weren’t able to play the Arbiter. This has been a complaint in several reviews. Methenitis believes or at least hopes that Bungie will release a Halo 3.5, Halo 3-2 or Halo 3 Directors cut.

The storyline will basically be the Arbiter’s cannon story during the activities of Halo 3, filling in all the gaps of absence in the Chief’s escapade. And after all, why not? It would only be addition to the story, which would take a comparatively small development time.

Actually I could see this happening and I would buy it if Bungie did actually put it out.

Considering halo 3 made over $170 million on the first day, it would be business suicide not to.

man, just when you thought halo 3 hype was finally over…

Well, if we’re going to start having “spin-off’s”, I’d rather they be about something that made sense then something loosely tagged on with the Halo name.

For note, that doesn’t include Halo Wars. From the looks of things, that will be a very good RTS, which will hopefully stay faithful to the canon trilogy.

hALO 3 DOSE USE THE arbitire during multiplayer storymode. I PERSONALLY DID NOT LIKE THAT AND would have preffered it if both playes were masterchief. However i do thiink it would have been absolutly ausome if they brought out an arbiture story line. Most likly everyone would buy it just to have the complete set.

Keep in mind that the Master chief is still floating around in space, and if you take the time to run through the epilogue,(the part where he wakes up in the back end of the ship as it’s floating around without the rest of the ship) at least what I’ve seen on the version after you finish the game on legendary, an additional Halo instillation can be seen catching light just before the end. So at the very least, even with the Covenant dissolved, and the flood eradicated, the Arbiter’s opportunity to return as a Badass could be presented in his retrieval of the missing spartan.

  16. Hulett says:

Dude… Yeah Halo will get old… But look at Final Fantasy! They are on number 13! And Halo will never get boring… You just gotta find new ways of having fun with it… Like making battle arenas to fight in… Stuff like that, Halo will always be one of the best!
