In honor of the buxom Ms. Croft’s digital anniversary, GameTap the online game service is presenting a series of videos highlighting the history of the video game heroine as well as versions of the character depicted by popular animators, designers and artists. Eidos is ramping up Laura’s 10th anniversary party with an upcoming re-release/update of her early adventures using modern gaming platforms and pay mechanics adapted from the latest Tomb Raider games.
The documentary will be free for anyone to view online and released in segments ending June 7th. The animated version of Laura will be the inaugural episode of the service’s new “Re\Visioned” program on GameTap TV. The first episode of the series will be released for free on June 10th, with later installments coming through August.
Here is a video to give you an idea of how improved Laura is in 10 years of games, and a trailer for the documentary.
