Killzone Beta Not Coming Till Next Year

Sony had been hoping for the beta of Killzone 2 to make it out this year, but an SCEA rep has now said that they don’t believe they’ll have anything ready before the end of the year. That’s good if you ask me, because what gamer really has time to play ANOTHER game right now?
“We are hoping to do a beta but I don’t think we’ll have anything ready before this year is over… it is something we are working on for next year,” a spokesperson told PSU.
Developer Guerilla announced that a public multiplayer beta was in the works, but there was never any timeframe given for its release. The game is still set to release some in mid to late 2008, so a beta in the spring seems very possible. Given the success that the Halo 3 beta had and its proximity to the release of the game, the beta not being ready doesn’t necessarily have any bearing on the release of the game itself.

Oh…. my… goody goody gumdrops. That screenshot looks amazing. I can’t wait, but yet the wait is worth it. Quality releases that are a little late are better than meager releases rushed to be released.
