Killzone 2 Screenshots were Touched Up

When Guerrilla Games released new screens of Killzone 2 last week, there was some suspicion that the screens had been touched up. Comparing the screens to what we saw in the Leipzeg trailer earlier this year, the two certainly looked quite a bit different – almost too different. (See for yourself here; Leipzeg is on the left, new screen on the right)
After the original footage of Killzone 2 turned out to be target rendering and not actual gameplay, it’s understandable that people were going to jump all over this. But Guerrilla’s Seb Downie has responded on the official PlayStation forums with a short explanation which may or may not clear things up for you.
They are only the tiniest bit touched up. Short answer is yes. Long answer is that there was a little bit of colour-correction done and some minor polish, but nothing major. Still very close to reality and it looks better in motion in my opinion.
So the final game might not actually look exactly like what you’re seeing in these screenshots. That probably doesn’t matter to most people, but the real nitpickers are sure to be busy once Killzone 2 is released.

LOL, Microsoft has their check out again. After feeling a slip coming. Ala this news is everywhere. Yea sure 360 still have a 30% failur rate. But who cares when some one may have used some paint on a PS3 game lol. What a joke the gaming US biased media is. And oddly enough in the hopes that their country can become more Communistic via supporting a choke hold company of their own. Vary odd indeed. Supporting the downfall of the economy.

Fucking A, it went from no color, no contrast to SUPER contrast, and deep (though very much nuetral) colors…
The game looks OK, but lets face it, it’s because it is pretty much in Black and white, and the textures are pretty terrible. I do like the look of the game, I’m just not SUPER impressed by it… Still, I’m a bit catious but over all I can’t wait for this game, and if it does manage to have decent Contrast and stuff then it wont look half bad =)
