Jostens Partners With EA to Bring Gamers the “Bling”

I will never fully understand people who buy-in to these sorts of promotions, but nevertheless, it is within my duties to report them to you. Jostens, makers of High School and College rings nationwide, have just partnered with EA games. What would become of such a partnership you ask? Well, let me show you:

That’s right. After beating Madden 2008 on an undisclosed “Level 3”, you will receive a code that lets you order the Champion Series ring from Jostens. (Update: EA states that this feature is for Xbox 360 and PS3 only.) The ring can be adorned with the team logo of your choice, and comes in a variety of flavors. Madden fanatics can expect $149 for the cheap version, and $495 for 14k gold. Have an extra couple thousand dollars? You can also have the standard cubic zirconium replaced with real diamonds.

Perhaps this promotion will give you the chance to have that championship ring you never won. If only coach would have put you in, you would have won state for sure. Yeah, that would have changed things, you would have gone pro. Think I can throw a football over them mountains?

    “EA states that the promotional code is for “next-gen” systems only. (Sorry Nintendo)”

    Next-Gen meaning the Next Generation.
    Current Gen Consoles;
    Xbox 360, PS3, Wii.
    Next-Gen Consoles;
    TBA.

    How can you say, that Nintendo won’t get in on the action, when nobody has said anything yet about Next gen.

    If you’re confusing ‘next-gen’ with ‘current-gen’ then how can you say that Nintendo isn’t a current-gen game console? It is out currently and uses technology that neither the ps3 or the xbox 360 utilize. So if you’re saying that the Wii isn’t ‘current-gen’ because it’s video and processor specifications are below the other two systems, perhaps you should be reminded of the case of Pea Green Gameboy Versus Full Color Gamegear.

    Nintendo is known for doing well against systems that are far better, in the specifications department.
    Also, I would like to point out that neither the PS3 or the Xbox 360 have bluetooth technology or a web-browser. Also, it’s far more fun to use a Wii-mote on your pc instead of your 360 controller, look at all the videos that show you how to do it.

    I’m no, Nintendo fanboy, they’ve made their mistakes. I am saving up to buy a 360 in fact. I just can’t stand when people are ignorant of the facts.

    To be honest, the Nintendo Wii is more of a cross between last generation and this one. Not to say anything bad about the Wii, but I really don’t consider it next-gen either. What’s with all your hostility anyway? Did your parents not give you enough attention as a child or something?

    Weclock, do you seriously care that much for a dumb ring to go off like that? I understand this is the internet and anyone can say anything they want without being held accountable, but c’mon man, your very long and detailed comment was uncalled for. Do you really plan on getting this game and then beating it at the required level and then call to order the ring with the special code? I highly doubt that you will my friend. If you do, then you have bigger problems in your life you should be worrying about rather than worrying about if a writer should consider the Nintendo Wii “next-gen”.

    BTW: The Nintendo Wii isn’t next gen. It’s an upgraded Gamecube with motion sensor that also acts as a great dust collector. There, I said it.

    Just so I understand the whole promo code thing, it is assumed that PS2 owners are SOL on the shot at getting a ring when they master the 08′ version?? If that is the case it would be nice if some one would be as so kind to foward that code to me. I’m almost at level 3 and kind of PO’d about not getting in on the fun like the X’boxer’s and P-3′ers do.

    Thanks
