It’s common knowledge that the Xbox 360 sells very poorly in Japan. Microsoft has tried to do what it could – Blue Dragon was an attempt to grab the audience with a JPRG in the vein of Final Fantasy, but that clearly wasn’t enough. Now they’re trying to sell their machine by slashing the price.

The Premium system current costs 39,795 yen (~$350) to 34,800 (~$300). The Core system will drop to 27,800 yen (~$240), with a new bundle being released that will include Viva Piñata and Forza Motorsport 2, which will cost about $350.

Somehow I doubt this will have much of an impact on the big picture.

If they released a bundle with Blue Dragon or Halo 3 that might be tempting.

If they bundled it with a free PS3 it would sell millions
