Is There Any Hope for Another Blizzard MMO Soon?

There’s no denying the popularity of World of Warcraft. A lot of people’s free time, nay, their very lifestyles have become dominated by Blizzard’s expansive MMO. This can only lead to the inevitable question: will Blizzard drop yet another atomic explosion-sized MMO on an unsuspecting populace anytime soon? Lead designer for WoW, Jeffrey Kaplan, recently touched on the idea in an interview:
“As far was working on another MMO project or a WoW 2, obviously as a company we’d be very interested in further exploring the MMO space.”
Kaplan said Blizzard doesn’t have “anything official” to talk about regards further MMO exploration currently, but he explained the developer is “definitely looking towards the future as well.”
Whenever I hear someone discuss the possibility of Blizzard making another MMO, my heart suddenly skips a beat as the words “World of Starcraft” float once again into my head. And whenever I think of the possibility of a “World of Starcraft” MMO, my mind automatically turns to two things: this and the image of my desicated corpse found hunched over my computer still clutching the mouse, with the letters “XP” carved onto every surface around me.
