Is the “Wii-mote” Just the First Step?

Does the recent success of the Wii change the way we use electronics forever? It seems as if steps are certainly being made in that direction. This new device, “Soap†uses innovative mechanics to control a standard mouse pointer without the need for a flat surface. While this technology may not have originated from the Wii, the popular favor of the Wii makes technology like this much more feasible in the open market. Is this the wave of the future? I suppose only time will tell.
