Intel is making a move to rebrand it’s lines of processors in 2008. Not only will Intel be renaming many of its processor lines, it will be adding a universal logo and increasing text fonts on packaging. The company hopes to simplify brand selection making their products easier to understand for both consumers and businesses.
As an example of changes to come, currently the Intel Centrino mobile platform has five different logos with brands like Centrino, Centrino Duo and Centrino Pro. These will be consolidated under the Intel Centrino brand, and rename the Centrino Pro as Intel Centrino with vPro Technology. The new Intel Centrino with vPro Technology will be based on the Intel Core 2 Duo T9000 and T8000 series (45nm Penryn) processors and the current Santa Rosa platform and will be available in Q1, 2008.

Thank God. I’m pretty tech savvy and even I had problems sorting out which intel chips were which and had what performance level.
Finnaly Intel makes a font that doesn’t need a magnifying glass to read
the prices are going to be T8100 for $209, and T8300 for $241 for the lower end parts with “only” 3MB L2. The T8300 seems like a pretty amazing deal for me as only 30$ for 300Mhz?!?!?!?
pair that up with a 8600M GT and 2 GB DDR2 ram and you are all set…….i’m waiting for those……..can’t wait for those montevina’s though
