Intel is shaking things up. First came the news that they are rebranding their processors and now, according to a leaked report, the company will be discontinuing six Intel Core 2 processors and four Intel Pentium D processors in November 2007.
In the November announcement, Intel will announce the discontinuation of the Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 and the Intel Core 2 Duo E6700, E6600, E6300, E6420 and E6320 processors in January 2008. Any orders up to this EOL date will continued to be fulfilled so expect some of these processors to still be in circulation weeks after the EOL date.
PC gamers can also expect to see the last of the Pentium D family. Intel issued the Product Discontinuance Notice (PDN) for the quad-core Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 in September. The model will be dropped this November. Intel has also issued PDNs back in August for four Pentium D processor models and three Pentium 4 processor models which will drop by October 2007.

why? Why wouldnt they. For Pentium D, this is already old news. They have moved to Core 2 Duo, so who needs Pentium D?
As for Core 2 Duo that will EOL, they have already upped the specs on newer versions and moving to 45nm in 2008.
Tell them to bring em on
