Insight into World of Warcraft Gold Farming

Ever wonder where all that gold comes from? The answer is China, or at least if you’re talking about World of Warcraft.

This BBC news story gives an interesting glimpse into the gold farming scene for World of Warcraft, even though it’s really nothing new. One part I found surprising was the fact that Blizzard canceled over 100,000 accounts because of this, though one might assume it was the accounts of the gold farmer.

So the question remains: Are you against gold farming, or did you buy that Mount with U.S. Dollars?

I’m guilty. But come on, who isn’t? MMOs eat your life and your soul!

I’m not guilty. I’ve never bought as much as a copper piece. I wish there were more effective measures taken against these companies, but the reality of it is that there really is no way for Blizzard (or any other MMO company) to keep these people out. They have to be reactive, as proactive measures could affect honest players.

That’s actually quite sad, if you don’t have the time to do something, do it later. Waste of money tbh.

Honestly, this never bothered me. I know there are people who bought their mounts with real money, but I also personally know people who have more time than I do so they can spend it all earning tons of WoW gold. Why begrudge either of them? I just plug along, earn money and levels at my own pace, and focus on having fun. Who wants to keep up with the virtual Joneses anyway?

Who needs these lousy Goldsellers…..I have a level70 character with an epic mount and already have 7000G again.
Just choose the right professions and use the Auction house.
