Bungie has released more information on the three new maps that will be available for Halo 3. The new maps will include “Cottonball”, “Purple Reign” and “OK Corral”. Although “OK Corral” shares the name of the famous battle where Wyatt Earp and his crew gunned down primarily unarmed outlaws, it has very little in common with the battle other than the fact that it’s going to be a certain “deathtrap” for anyone who tries to squeeze a vehicle through the middle.
Map 1: Cottonball
“Cottonball” will be a perfect map for sniper battles and it was designed primarily iwth CTF and Assault in mind. It’s a large scale objective map and we certainly needed more of those. Designed with CTF and Assault in mind this map is a large scale objective map.
Map 2: Purple Reign
“Purple Rain” is a smallish-medium sized symmetrical map. This will be a map completely designed for slayer matches. Although none of the information about the map seemed to stick out at first, one aspect seems really interesting. They have installed one way glass in certain sections which could really change up the strategy of things. Players who like to hide and lure opponents into kill zones will certainly like the one way glass aspect to this map.
Map 3: OK Corral
The “Ok Corral” is a medium to large map big enough for vehicles, but it’s set up where vehicle use should be used only for emergency escapes. This will certainly be a map that all snipers love.

“Primarily unarmed outlaws”?!
I think you had better go back to school and bone up on your history.
The “Cowboys” were heavily armed and wanted a shootout.
They got what they asked for.
hmm..maybe you are talking about the Hollywood version of what happened. It’s fairly well documented that a majority of the outlaws were unarmed.
I think they should bring back Boarding Action from the first Halo. That was one of the most unique maps for a first person shooter, and it was great for sniper rifles.
i heard there is a surprise vehicle in one of the new maps. what is it???
armed….unarmed… who cares; we are forgetting about the obvious — THEY WERE OUTLAWS!!! They all had killed people, throughout there sprees, and deserved a little rough justice. Its not like today with prisons and execution chambers, and a standing police force… They hunted them down like the cowardly dogs they were and shot them…. period.
